VA presentation for the Zuid-Holland Zuid safety region

1 min read

Last Thursday, the Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority) presented itself at a meeting of the Zuid-Holland Zuid safety region (Veiligheidsregio Zuid-Holland Zuid).

Representatives of, among others, the police, the regional medical assistance organisation (Geneeskundige Hulpverleningsorganisatie in de Regio, GHOR), the Regional Information and Expertise Centre (Regionaal Informatie en Expertise Centrum, RIEC) Zuid-Holland and various municipalities were thus able to learn more about the work of the VA.

Towns and villages where martial arts events have taken place in recent years are often already familiar with the VA. For representatives of other municipalities, police forces and services, this was a first introduction. They were informed about the core tasks of the VA as the supervisory body for the martial arts sector, and about the informative and supportive role the VA can fulfil for municipalities in relation to martial arts and martial arts events.

The Keurmerk Vechtsportscholen (quality mark for martial arts gyms), which will be introduced next year, was of course also discussed. This will give municipalities new means of contributing to safeguarding a healthy and safe sporting environment for everyone.
