First aid course for sports injuries available at a reduced rate

1 min read

Accidents happen, including during training for a full-contact martial art. That is why it is important to know how to deal with them. The OMVON makes it easier to take a first aid course for (sports) injuries, known in Dutch as EHB(S)O, close to home.

One of the requirements for the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the quality mark issued by the Dutch Martial Arts Authority) is that at least one trainer holds a valid certificate as a company emergency response officer (BHV) or in first aid for (sports) injuries (EHB(S)O). In practice, some people face obstacles to taking a course. Travel times are long, or they consider the costs high.

The OMVON gives trainers the opportunity to take a first aid course for sports injuries (EHB(S)O) run by the Red Cross at a reduced rate. The courses can be organised throughout the country. The location where the courses take place can be adjusted to the preference of the participants. The EHB(S)O course can be taken without participating in the OMVON official training programme.

For more information, send an email to info@omvon.nl

The OMVON is an independent organisation and is not affiliated with the VA (Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit, the Dutch Martial Arts Authority). Nor does the VA have any commercial or other interest of its own in the OMVON. The VA is sharing this information because it is in the interest of martial arts that as many trainers and coaches as possible hold an EHB(S)O certificate.
