Double congratulations at Ringer Sportplaza in Dordrecht

In his new role as a member of the Supervisory Board (Raad van Toezicht), Marc Merx delivered double congratulations at Ringer Sportplaza in Dordrecht this week.
Merx, who in daily life is the alderman for sport (sportwethouder) in the South Holland municipality, visited together with VA chair Herbert Dekkers. The gym holds the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the quality mark of the Dutch Martial Arts Authority) and recently received a visit from an audit team. The VA delegation came to hand over the positive audit report to trainer John van Dijk.
With justified pride, the sensei gave a tour and explained how he guides martial arts enthusiasts of all levels. That Ringer Sportplaza also works with elite athletes was demonstrated recently in the ring by his pupil Darryl Verdonk. The 26-year-old kickboxer has recorded one victory after another in recent times, and can now call himself Enfusion world champion in the up to 70 kg category. In his capacity as alderman for sport of Dordrecht, Merx had brought a fine bouquet of flowers on behalf of the city.
The trainer and his pupil then updated the VA delegation on their experiences in the martial arts sector.
