Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit organises course for confidential contact persons (vertrouwenscontactpersonen) in the martial arts sector

On 22 November the Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority), together with NOC*NSF/ASK and Centrum Veilige Sport (Centre for Safe Sport), will organise a course for confidential contact persons (vertrouwenscontactpersonen) for the Dutch martial arts sector. During this course, 16 people from the martial arts sector will be trained as confidential contact persons, so that together we can work towards an even safer and healthier martial arts sector.

These confidential contact persons are tasked with identifying reports of sexual harassment and other inappropriate behaviour and taking the necessary follow-up steps.

The VA has written a guidance document, Tackling inappropriate behaviour in martial arts, intended for municipalities, federations, gyms, promoters, trainers and, of course, the fighters themselves.
