Conference 'Martial arts in your municipality'

The Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority) is co-organiser of the conference 'Vechtsport in jouw gemeente' ('Martial arts in your municipality'), which is being organised on Thursday 6 December 2018 together with Kenniscentrum Sport (the Dutch national knowledge centre for sport), the City of Amsterdam and the NIVM.

The social value of martial arts is considerable. This is confirmed by a growing number of studies and research projects. A number of important conditions are attached to this, however. The conference has an appealing programme, with plenary contributions from researcher Agnes Elling, MMA fighter Marloes Coenen, and Dennis Gebbink, founder of Sportclub Only Friends.
