New easing of coronavirus measures in two steps

1 min read

The government has announced a new easing of the coronavirus measures. This will take place in steps. Until Friday 18 February the current measures apply to sport, and from that day the first changes take effect. A week later, on 25 February, the second step follows.

From Friday 18 February, catering facilities at sports venues may open until 01.00. However, the coronavirus entry pass (coronatoegangsbewijs, CTB) remains required wherever it must be shown at present. Wearing face masks and keeping a distance of 1.5 metres are no longer compulsory at the martial arts gym.

At small events, not everyone needs to have a fixed place any longer. Where more than 500 people are gathered indoors, a fixed seat is compulsory. You must also wear a face mask there when moving around.

From 25 February, normal opening hours apply everywhere. A coronavirus entry pass will also no longer be required at smaller events where fewer than 500 people are gathered.

Where more than 500 people gather without fixed seating, everyone must show a negative test result.

An overview of all measures for sport is available at Rijksoverheid.nl (the Dutch central government website)
