One-off fighter fee for Fightpassport registration from now on

Registering a new fighter in the Fightpassport now costs a one-off fee of ten euros. Nothing changes for the almost 10,000 competitive fighters who were registered free of charge since the introduction of the Fightpassport.

The days when different federations used different paper booklets, and no one had an overview, are definitively over. All federations, ringside doctors and matchmakers now use the Fightpassport, the digital competition record book for kickboxing, Thai boxing and MMA in the Netherlands. This benefits the safety of the athletes above all. The chance that inexperienced fighters end up facing highly experienced fighters, with all the associated health risks, has been considerably reduced. It is also now virtually impossible to evade (medical) suspensions.

The development and introduction of the Fightpassport system was paid for entirely by the VA (Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit, the Dutch martial arts regulator). For maintenance and further development we will from now on ask for a one-off contribution upon new registrations. Nothing changes for athletes who are already registered; they do not have to pay.

Everyone who registers from now on will be asked to pay a one-off fighter fee of 10 euros. At the end of the registration process, the fighter fee must be paid by iDEAL or credit card.

The fee for the Fightpassport is separate from the membership dues of the sports federations.

The VA continues to pay by far the largest share of the costs.
