Vacancy: intern (f/m) Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (higher professional education/university)

2 min read

The Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority) is looking for an enthusiastic intern (f/m) for a working placement combined with a research assignment. You will make an important contribution to the work of the Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit in the period from February to July 2022.

What do we offer?

We are a small, young organisation with a pioneering role in regulating the full contact martial arts kickboxing, Thai boxing and MMA in the Netherlands. Our office location is hosted by the municipality of Amsterdam. You will have the opportunity to really familiarise yourself with the martial arts organisations in the Netherlands, from the gym around the corner to the largest international promotions such as Glory and UFC. We can introduce you to them and guide you. We will jointly determine the exact content and scope of the research. Through us you will get to know not only the martial arts organisations, but also municipal government and other national sports organisations. We offer an internship for the period February 2022 to July 2022, on average around three to four days per week. The exact duration and scope can be agreed in consultation.

What do we ask of you?

Commitment, interest and above all enjoyment. Ultimately, that also determines the quality of your work. In addition, you should enjoy doing research, it helps if you write fluently and well, and you should be willing to help us with all kinds of tasks that come our way and yours during your internship, such as attending and scheduling meetings and helping to write news items or meeting reports. You are flexible and do not mind being deployed in the evening or at the weekend from time to time. You are also able to work independently.

Above all, you must want to learn a great deal. We expect a curious, open attitude from you as an intern. An affinity with (martial arts) sport is a requirement. The required level is at least the final phase of higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO), in relevant fields such as Sport, Management & Entrepreneurship, Sports Marketing, Human Movement Sciences, Social Sciences, and Marketing and Communication.
