Vacancy: assignment project officer Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit

The Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (VA, the Dutch Martial Arts Authority) is the national regulator for the martial arts kickboxing, Thai boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA). The VA also acts as an independent advisory body for municipalities with regard to these martial arts. The VA is not a sports federation and focuses on cross-sport measures that cannot be implemented by the existing martial arts organisations alone. The VA also supervises the quality of martial arts organisations. The VA is an associate member of NOC*NSF (the Dutch Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation) and a member of the POS (Platform Ondernemende Sportaanbieders, the platform for commercial sports providers), and works together with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (ministerie van VWS), Dutch municipalities and of course all stakeholders in the martial arts world.

The VA has a supervisory board, an executive board and an office. To support the office, which carries out the day-to-day work, we are looking for an enthusiastic project officer.

What do we ask?

• You have relevant work experience in project management and an affinity with (martial arts) sport.
• You are able to prepare, chair, evaluate and follow up on meetings.
• You are flexible and do not mind working occasionally in the evening or at the weekend.
• You coordinate your work with colleagues at the office and with the responsible board members.
• You work in a structured way and are able to work independently.
• You report to the director of the office.

Duties

• You support the office, the audit team and the safety coordinators of the VA.
• You assist with work relating to the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the VA quality mark).
• You draft texts, letters and reports and organise and coordinate meetings.

Job requirements

• At least a higher professional education degree (HBO) or demonstrable work experience at that level.
• An affinity with the (martial arts) sport sector.
• At least 2 years of relevant and demonstrable work experience in project management.
• You are independent and there are no possible conflicting interests in martial arts.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
