NVB takes over Fightpassport system from VA

The Dutch Martial Arts Federation (Nederlandse Vechtsportbond, NVB) is taking over the Fightpassport system from the Dutch Martial Arts Authority (Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit, VA). As of 9 December, the NVB is responsible for managing all data relating to martial arts bouts in the Netherlands.

Fightpassport was launched in 2018 by the VA as a digital, uniform competition record book for kickboxing, muaythai and mixed martial arts. Until then, virtually all martial arts organisations kept their own records of fighters and bouts. Very little information was exchanged. As a result, no one had an overall picture. Fightpassport put an end to this fragmentation of information.

Since its introduction, all fighters and all bouts have been registered in a uniform manner. From promoters and matchmakers to ringside physicians and officials, everyone involved in organising bouts uses this system under the supervision of the VA.

When the Dutch Martial Arts Federation was established, it was agreed that all responsibilities belonging to a sports federation, but temporarily held by the VA, would be transferred to the NVB. Managing the Fightpassport system is one of those responsibilities.
