New federation, but familiar procedures continue for now

Update: In December 2024 the Dutch martial arts federation (Nederlandse Vechtsportbond, NVB) took over the Fightpassport and the issuing of VA numbers from the Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority). In 2025 the Nederlandse Vechtsportbond (NVB) took over the issuing and renewal of the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the Authority's quality mark for martial arts gyms) from the Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit. For current information and answers to all questions we therefore refer you to the NVB. The VA will continue to carry out the audits at martial arts gyms. As of 1 January 2024 the Netherlands has one martial arts federation. The fact that this federation starts in the new year does not mean that from that day onwards there will be a full organisation in place that can immediately perform all federation tasks. A number of matters will therefore remain unchanged for the time being. For promoters and Keurmerk holders, for example.

Promoters
For the first quarter of 2024, promoters can continue to make arrangements with the organisations they prefer to work with (the VA's current covenant partners). These organisations will supervise the events under the flag of the new martial arts federation, but contact will therefore continue along familiar lines for the time being.

Keurmerk holders
If the Keurmerk of a martial arts gym is about to expire, the re-assessment can simply be arranged through the VA. The VA will also continue to carry out audits as usual. Anyone with questions can still contact the VA: keurmerk@vechtsportautoriteit.nl

Administratively, some things will change in due course. Promoters and Keurmerk holders will be informed about this in good time. They will not be faced with surprises.

During the first quarter we will clearly inform those involved what will ultimately change, and when matters will change. But for now it is still business as usual.
