Wanted: Director of the Dutch Martial Arts Federation (Nederlandse Vechtsportbond)

On 30 November 2023, the establishment of the Nederlandse Vechtsportbond (Dutch Martial Arts Federation) was announced. After 50 years the moment has arrived: one federation for kickboxing, muay thai and MMA. The first board is known and a great deal of preparatory work has been done. The next step is to make the federation operational.

The board of the Nederlandse Vechtsportbond is looking for a director. The director's role is to make the federation operational in 2024 (starting in January is possible), together with the board and many other volunteers. The federation is scheduled to go live in the second quarter of 2024. During the start-up phase, there will be close cooperation with the Vechtsportautoriteit (Dutch Martial Arts Authority), which is based in Amsterdam.
Are you a builder with demonstrable affinity for the sport and leadership qualities, who sees it as a challenge to build a new federation together with the board? Then respond to this vacancy. In January and February, the position involves two days per week; in March and April three days; and from May onwards, once the federation has become an aspiring member of NOC*NSF (Dutch Olympic Committee and Dutch Sports Federation), four days per week. Remuneration is in line with scale 12 of the collective labour agreement for the sports sector (CAO Sport). For the first four months this will be on an external hire basis; once the federation has become an aspiring member of NOC*NSF, this can be converted into an employment contract.
