Dashboard 2021: the VA at a glance

The VA sometimes takes visible measures to promote healthy, safe and well organised combat sports, but most of the work takes place behind the scenes. To give some insight into what we do and how combat sports are developing, we produce a dashboard every year.

Gym owners are familiar with the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the quality mark issued by the Dutch Combat Sports Authority). They also know that during the coronavirus crisis we made a clear effort on their behalf, for instance towards politicians. Promoters and municipalities know us mainly from the Guidance Document on Combat Sports Events and from the audits. Competitive fighters no longer have to juggle four paper competition booklets, now that there is a single, clear digital Fightpassport. They also know that we have made agreements with the Dutch anti-doping organisation (Dopingautoriteit), reducing the chance that they will face an opponent who cheats.
