Improved Fightpassport procedure: fighters now register themselves

Registering fighters for the Fightpassport has been simplified. Based on the initial experiences, it has been decided that fighters will register themselves from now on. So without the involvement of a federation.

To take part in bouts, a fighter needs a Fightpassport with a VA number. To obtain this, the fighter must register themselves. The federations have been removed from the procedure. This saves the federations work, prevents delays and gives the fighter more control over their own Fightpassport. Of course, the federations and the VA (Nederlandse Vechtsportautoriteit, the Dutch combat sports authority) do check whether the details entered by the fighter are correct.

Registration for the Fightpassport is no longer done via the Excel document or the registration form. Registration is possible HERE or via the button on the VA website under the heading ‘Fightpassport’.

PLEASE NOTE! Because of privacy legislation, every fighter needs their own email address. Providing a general email address of a gym or a management agency is therefore not possible.

VA number mandatory!

From now on, the VA and the federations will monitor more strictly whether all fighters are actually registered and hold a digital Fightpassport. Gym owners, trainers and fighters who do not cooperate will be excluded from bouts. The VA will check whether every athlete who wants to compete in a bout has a VA number. A fighter must already hold this VA number when registering for an event.

The VA number must be provided to the federation as early as the moment a fighter is entered for an event. The fighter must be able to prove their identity around the bouts, and therefore also during the weigh-in. This allows the federation to verify the entry. Fighters (or their coaches) must always have this VA number to hand. Athletes are therefore responsible themselves for registering for the Fightpassport from now on.
