Regional Safety Authorities get to know the Vechtsportautoriteit

This week the Vechtsportautoriteit (the Dutch combat sports regulator) presented itself at a meeting in Amersfoort of all Regional Safety Authorities (Veiligheidsregio's) in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is divided into 25 Regional Safety Authorities (Veiligheidsregio's): areas in which administrative bodies and services cooperate in the fields of fire services, disaster and crisis management, medical assistance, and public order and safety.
The Vechtsportautoriteit is contacted by these organisations with increasing frequency. Local authorities and services are finding their way to us more and more often, particularly when a new event is announced. They can approach the VA with questions about the organiser, and can make use of the guidance document for municipalities published by the VA.
In order to give those services and authorities that are not yet familiar with the VA a clear picture of who we are and what we do, board member Marcel Scholtes and office manager Farid Gamei set this out this week at a meeting of all Regional Safety Authorities.
