Quality mark explained in a short animation

The VA has had an animation made that briefly and clearly explains what the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit (the VA quality mark) is. In about a minute and a half, we explain what it offers gym owners, municipalities, athletes and their parents.
Good combat sports gyms are glad to see the bad apples leave the sector. Municipalities with combat sports gyms want to know who they are dealing with. A new instrument has been devised for this: the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit. It will be launched in early 2021.
Well-organised and safe combat sports start with the gyms. They carry the values of combat sports to a wide audience. What is more, they train tomorrow's champions. They are the foundation of combat sports. As things stand, anyone may call themselves a trainer and teach. Hang a punching bag in your shed and call yourself a gym: that is what the combat sports sector and municipalities want to put an end to.
The sector itself indicated that there is a need to safeguard quality by means of a quality mark. In response, the Keurmerk Vechtsportautoriteit was created. It is an initiative of the VA, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the NOC*NSF Centre for Safe Sport, and all sports federations involved in kickboxing, Thai boxing and MMA in the Netherlands. Gym owners and experts from municipalities were also involved in developing it.
