Joint action towards politics: Let #iedereenweersporten (everyone play sports again)

This weekend the government will take decisions on the reopening of gyms on 11 May. Together with the umbrella sports organisation NOC*NSF and the Platform Ondernemende Sportaanbieders (platform of entrepreneurial sports providers), the VA is standing up for the interests of the martial arts sector. Sometimes in public, sometimes behind the scenes. The motto now is: Everyone playing sports again. And you can help!
The power of sport and exercise is still not being taken seriously enough in the fight against the pandemic. Action has been taken on all fronts for months to put sport as firmly as possible on the government's agenda. Today another extra step is being taken.
Lobbying: In addition to daily contact with the sports department of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (ministerie van VWS), a position paper is being sent to all parties in the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer). The message is: 'Give sport more room as part of the solution'. In it we address all aspects of training, competitions, catering facilities, follow-on activities and so on.
Media: A press release is being issued by NOC*NSF. 'More than a quarter of Dutch people less fit due to the coronavirus crisis', with the latest sports participation figures. The release contains quotes from directors of sports federations in order to convey this message across the whole of sport.
Social media: NOC*NSF is launching a new social media campaign today. The motto: #iedereenweersporten
Do you use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media yourself? Then you too can support this campaign. Spread the message that sport is not part of the problem, but part of the solution. Use the hashtag #iedereenweersporten
