Athletes who doubt whether they can win on their own sometimes resort to prohibited aids. Unfortunately also in martial arts. That is a thorn in the side of honest athletes and real enthusiasts. That is why doping is actively combated.<\/h4>\n

The Dutch Martial Arts Authority and the Doping Authority have made agreements about combating doping. Together we discourage and combat the use of doping. This is done by providing information about fair sport and by checking athletes.<\/p>\n

Good anti-doping measures start with good information. It must be clear what is and is not allowed, and how controls work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Doping Authority<\/a> has a lot of information online. The page Is this allowed?<\/a> states what you can and cannot use.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you can get permission to use a prohibited drug. It’s called dispensation.<\/p>\n

Nutritional supplements are also a point of attention. Inform yourself about this. It is also good to know in which everyday food doping substances<\/a> can be found.<\/p>\n

Drugs such as cannabis, Ecstasy and cocaine are prohibited in competition<\/span>. But watch out! For example, cannabis can still be found in your urine for up to a month after use. And if it is still found during an in-competition doping control, you test positive!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Doping Authority has E-learning modules<\/a> on its website. These are short lessons and tests. They help you to understand what doping is and how it is combated. There are separate courses for athletes, trainers\/coaches and parents. The E-learning is free. You will receive a certificate upon completion. Join!<\/p>\n

Since the spring of 2022, doping controls have been taking place<\/a> in martial arts on a structural basis. These are carried out by the Doping Authority. All federations and promoters in the Netherlands are participating in this. All competitive athletes and coaches are obliged to cooperate with the doping controls<\/a>. This applies from the club championship in the village to the world title fight in Ahoy. The Doping Authority does not announce the doping controls in advance – not even to the VA!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Any sanctions are determined by the independent Institute for Sports Justice<\/a> (ISR). From now on, the same rules and sanctions apply in martial arts as in other sports.<\/p>\n
